Fabrication Shop

Certification – Steel Structures EN 1090-1

We offer certification according to EN 1909-1 for production in fabrication shops against technical requirements based on:

- EN 1090-2, for steel structures
- EN 1090-3, for aluminium structures

Certification for the CE marking

After certification of the fabrication shop according to EN 1090-1, the company is given the right to declare and CE mark the products.

For certification against the CE mark, Nordcert has been notified with number 1505.

Note! Since July 1, 2014, steel structures must have a Declaration of Performance, DoP, and a CE marking to be sold within the EU.

CE marking

Once the company is certified, it can produce a Declaration of Performance and CE mark the products.

Assembly (Construction Site)

Certification − Assembly EN 1090-2

We offer a voluntary certification of assembly work on the construction site according to EN 1090-2. This certification is increasingly requested by customers of steel structures since this is required on construction sites. This certification is based on the requirements found in EN 1090-2 and consists of the following parts:

Project or quality plan including the conditions of the project, organisation, and management
Preparation and assembly describing how and in what order the assembly will be done
Welding plan describing how the welding will be done and which data and approved welding instructions to use
Inspection and test plan including program for how delivery control, production control and final inspection will be done and documented

Advantages of certification according to EN 1090-2

- Simpler for assembly companies to show that they fulfil the requirements
- Simpler to make assembly purchases by requesting certified assembly
-Simpler for building inspectors/control managers when certified assembly is used

Certification process

Application, the process begins with the company´s application (www.nordcert.se)
Pre-visit, if the company so wishes, we can do a pre-visit where we go through the most important requirements regarding what your company needs to be issued a certificate
Certification inspection, we check the company’s quality system, routines/work instructions, formal competence, instruments, equipment, and the practical execution in the fabrication shop and on the construction site. After an approved inspection, we issue a certificate

Certificates are maintained by continuous inspections.
