Approved Galvanizer − Hot-dip galvanization of load-bearing structures

The Approved Galvanizer certification implies that the hot-dip galvanizer has undergone a certification process adapted to the industry and can show, among other things, that the requirements of the following standards are met:

  • EN ISO 1461
  • EN ISO 14713-2
  • EN 1090-2 (relevant parts)

The Approved Galvanizer certification was developed by the industry organisation Nordic Galvanizers, together with customer representatives, the branch organisation MVR, and the certification body Nordcert, to best suit the branch and to make it safe and simple to choose hot-dip galvanization for corrosion protection.

Since hot-dip galvanizers, according to a decision by SWEDAC, cannot be certified for EN 1090-1 because they act as subcontractors to steel construction contractors and manufacturers, this voluntary certification is unaccredited. Still, this certification is fully included in Nordcert´s quality system.

By selecting an Approved Galvanizer, the quality and systematics of hot-dip galvanization are secured and on the appropriate level for CE marking of structural members by the manufacturer.

Certified Approved Galvanizers are authorised to use the mark:
